The History of Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu
(
Of Chan Tzi Chan, Lau Fat Man, and Ng Wai Nung)

Chan Tzi Ching taught the eagle Claw System and soon had more students than he could teach alone. He returned to his village and selected some of his cousins, Lau Kai Man, students to train as assistants. Among these was Lau Fat Mon (who had already learned the complete system). In 1924, Chan Tzi Ching began taching in the Hong Kong Ching Mo Gymnasium. One of his top students was Ng Wai Nung. In 1929, Chan Tzi Ching had to return to his village so he sent for Lau Fat Mon to take his place.

Lau Fat Mon taught at the Hong Kong Ching Mo Gymnasium until 1931. He accepted an invitation to teach kung fu in a village named Wong Jung. Assisted by Yiu Kin Wah and Ng Wai Nung, he established a school of more than 300 students. When Lau Fat Mon returned to Hong Kong, by invitation of the Jong Nam Sports Association, Ng Wai Nung went with him. In 1936, during the Sino-Japanese war, Alu Fat Mon taught in the army in Canton. He was largely responsible for the spread of the Eagle Claw System throughout Southern China. He died in 1964.
