Eagle Claw covers many areas of martial arts and fitness training. You will develop balance, coordination, muscular endurance, strength, flexibility, cardivascular endurance, speed and explosiveness. It enhances concentration, memory and reduces stress. Our environment for training is desigend for this. A relaxed atmosphere, not the stereotypical militaristic one of many martial arts schools, is set up for you to forget your days stresses and enjoy your exercise. We do not want your training to be like your work. You will be encouraged to increase intensity not ordered to.
We encourage all of our students to engage in some full contact fighting at some time in their training. This serves several purposes: Since it is a martial art, you must learn the martial aspect to make your studey complete. How can you learn the effectiveness of the system if you don't simulate real life closelly? Also, fighting requires a mental state of focus that is quite special; calm, relaxed and focused, yet you must react with intensity in rapid motion. Dealing with the stress of having someone attempting to knock you out can put you in a state that is difficult to describe. If you do get hit and "see stars" you cannot affor dto quit! Remember, your life may be in danger. Learning how to deal with this kind of situation is imperative if you are to make learning Eagle Claw effective. And this has a scarry over into all areas of life; if you have a strong business negotiation, speech to give, law case to put to trial, surgeyr to perform or just deal with your wild children, you will know how to stay calm.
