All About Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan
Tai Chi Chuan or ‘Grand Ultimate Fist’ is considered the treasure of Chinese Kung Fu. It is the most sophisticated of all martial arts even though it looks very simple. It is a very high form of self- defense where physical strength is of no importance. It utilizes the principles of ‘yin and yang’ or ‘yield and attack’ as its mainstay. It is performed slowly at first, to develop the foundations of rooting, concentration, relaxation, balance, coordination and chi. When this is perfected it is done faster to develop fluidity of the waist and body and flow in chi.
It is believed that a man named Chen Seng-Feng created Tai Chi Chuan. His Tai Chi Chuan Classic is the main writing that expresses the principles of Tai Chi Chuan. Many of Tai Chi Chuan’s internal principles come from the teachings of Dat Mo (Bodidharma), an Indian who taught the monks at the Shaolin Temple.
